The intention for this project was to create a poster for an upcoming event while also working with the constraint of solely using type within the design. To account for the lack of visual intrigue that graphics would usually provide to attract attendees, I manipulated the type to serve this purpose instead. Using bright and eye-catching colors and letterforms that guide the eye through the event details, the poster does not need any graphics or imagery to promote the event.

This is a poster for a recital that was performed by a fellow student. Student recitals are often overlooked or viewed as less refined and this can discourage attendance. As a solution, I employed an elevated design language that reframes the accessibility of student recitals as an advantage rather than a reflection of inferiority.
